About Columbia County Sports
Columbia County is experiencing growth as families move away from downtown PDX and urban areas and seek out a more rural lifestyle. However, the lack of dedicated sports facilities matched with organized sports programs poses a challenge, as talented youth are drawn to club programs in Portland Metro. Columbia County Sports (CCS) was created with a focus on the community and beyond — offering gathering places for friends and family that provide high-quality sports based entertainment facilities for people of all ages in the heart of Columbia County.
Our focus will be on providing an atmosphere of fun, family, and entertainment. Our plans include giving back to those specific Columbia County school booster and recreational sports programs and their specific communities based on participation and use of the facilities.
Our History

The legacy course, St. Helen’s Golf Course, was founded in 1959. Having multiple owners throughout the decades, it developed a deep following in the 1990s through the 2000s, drawing in golfers from around and outside the county. As it was one of the only golf courses in the county, it left a dramatic hole when it closed in recent years.
Reopening the NEW “Old” St. Helen’s course aims to revive and sustain the history while maintaining high-quality operations and care and groundskeeping. While the course will be public, it will feel like a club environment focusing on youth and families.
